Digraphs & Long Vowels

Using specially coded text, Book 2 will take students to the next level from building words using single letter sound matching, to being able to read words that have sounds which are represented by more than one letter and that various sounds can be represented in a number of different ways. For example, the sound ‘a-e’ as in cake can also be spelt ‘ay’ as in day, ‘ai’ as in tail as well as ‘eigh’ as in eight. In Book 2 students will learn to words with digraphs such as ‘sh’ as in ship and the long vowels a, e, i, o and u and all the different ways to spell those sounds.
